Rinnai RBMC-10 in English
A very old cream Rinnai panel with three knobs: hot-water 저온/고온 on the left, a big heating-water dial (40–80°C) in the middle, and a winter/summer selector on the right, plus a push-in 운전 power button.
We could not find this exact model's manual, so these steps come from its closest sibling. If your panel behaves differently, send us a photo.
What does each button do?
- 1Running lamp · 운전unjeonGreen = the boiler is switched on.
- 2Refill lamp · 물보충mul bochungBlinking = the boiler is low on water. Refill using the instructions printed on the boiler's front (or call the landlord/A/S).
- 3Burner lamp · 연소yeonsoRed = burner firing.
- 4Power button · 운전 (꺼짐 / 켜짐)unjeonPush-in button: pushed in = 켜짐 (on), out = 꺼짐 (off).
- 5Room temperature · 실내온도sillae ondoShows the room temperature. It is a reading only — this panel does not hold a room temperature.
- 6Refill note · 물보충 방법mul bochung bangbeopPrinted: if the refill lamp blinks, add water following the method printed on the boiler front.
- 7Heating-water dial · 난방수온도조절nanbangsu ondo jojeolSets how hot the floor-heating water is, 40–80°C. Higher = warmer floors, more gas.
- 8Hot water knob · 온수온도조절 (저온 / 고온)onsu ondo jojeol저온 = lukewarm (mild season). 고온 = hotter (winter).
- 9Season guide · <겨울> / <여름>gyeoul / yeoreumPrinted guide: winter = heating + hot water together; summer = hot water only.

What setting should I use?
Selector on 난방온수, heating dial at 60, hot water knob in the middle. Summer: 온수전용.
How do I…?
Use floor (ondol) mode
- 1Turn the right selector to 난방온수.
- 2Turn the middle dial to 60 in winter (55 in mild weather, 65–70 only if very cold).
- 3Use the 실내온도 reading to judge: if the room passes 23–24°C, turn the dial down.
Leave for a few days
- 1Photo 46 version: turn the middle dial to 외출 (lowest temperature, runs every 4 hours).
- 2Photo 06 version (no 외출 mark): leave 난방온수 on with the dial at 40, and keep 운전 on so frost protection works.
Run on a timer
- 1Photo 46 version only: turn the middle dial into the 절약타이머 zone (between 55 and 외출).
- 2The printed scale: near 55 (///) = rests 15 minutes between burns; toward 외출 (/) = rests up to 4 hours.
- 3Most people get better results ignoring this and setting the dial to 60.
Hot water only (summer)
- 1Turn the right selector to 온수전용.
Change the hot-water temperature
- 1Left knob: toward 저온 = lukewarm, toward 고온 = hotter. Middle is a good start.
Turn it off
- 1Push the 운전 button out (to 꺼짐). In winter, use the lowest setting instead of off.
What do the words on the screen mean?

What trips people up on this model?
- There is NO room-temperature mode. The dial sets water heat; the 실내온도 screen just reads the room.
- Selector on 온수전용 = no heating at all, even with the dial high.
- Photo 46 dial: everything left of 55 is the 절약타이머 (saving timer) zone, and the far end is 외출. Turning the dial down there doesn't mean 'a bit cooler' — it switches to long off-periods.
- Blinking 물보충 lamp = low water; the boiler may stop until refilled.
It shows an error. Now what?
This old panel shows no error codes. If 운전 is on and nothing burns: check the gas valve is open and the 물보충 lamp isn't blinking, then call Rinnai A/S 1544-3651.
