Steve has lived in Korea 8+ years across multiple Seoul neighborhoods and has never had a safety incident. You can comfortably walk home from the subway at 11pm, run on the riverside trail at 6am, grab a late dinner solo. The biggest urban risks are honestly tourist-area pickpocketing and the occasional drunk salaryman; both are rare and easily avoided.
