This Week in Seoul: 12–18 October 2026
- Heavy rain Monday, then a sharp drop to 17 °C by Wednesday.
- Dry, clear middle of the week — bring a jacket, not an umbrella.
- Rain returns Sunday; pack a layer and an umbrella again.
- Hangang River Festival-Fall opens Saturday 17 October, free.
- Gala Octoberfest and the Gangdong Prehistoric Festival both run Fri–Sun.
This is a week of two halves. Monday opens with heavy rain and a muggy 28 °C high, then the temperature falls almost ten degrees overnight into a cold, clear midweek — a jacket week by Wednesday morning. Dust stays low. The weekend turns bright and mild on Saturday before rain returns on Sunday. The one thing not to miss: the Hangang River Festival-Fall opens Saturday 17 October along the river and runs through 25 October, free. Saturday is also the day for the Gangdong Prehistoric Festival in Amsa-dong and the Urban Agriculture Expo at Seoul Forest / 서울숲. Plan outdoor plans for Saturday, indoor plans for Sunday.

Weekday commute: a proper jacket from Tuesday evening onward — Wednesday morning will feel cold at 11 °C and Thursday's low drops to 10 °C.
Weekend outdoors: Saturday is the day to be outside — long sleeves, no jacket needed in the afternoon at 23 °C.
The wet day: Monday is the heavy one. Full-size umbrella, lighter shirt — it's still 28 °C under the clouds. A small umbrella is enough for Sunday.
