Itaewon is the convenience answer. If you want to step out of your front door, be at a subway entrance in three minutes and have thirty cuisines within a ten-minute walk, nowhere else we rent competes.

It works particularly well if you:

• are arriving with no Korean at all. The pharmacy, the clinic, the phone shop and the bank branch here all deal with foreign customers daily. That is a genuinely different experience from most of Seoul.
• are here for months rather than years. Short setup time, everything close, nothing to figure out.
• need a flat walk. Between the mobility of an injury, a heavy bag or simply not wanting a hill, Itaewon is the level option in Yongsan.
• eat out constantly. Gyeongnidan-gil alone will keep you busy for a season, and the Leeum museum is a seven-minute walk if you want something other than dinner.

Itaewon Station (Line 6) is 3–8 minutes on foot depending on the house, and Line 6 connects to Line 4 at Samgakji and Line 1 at Seoul Station within a couple of stops.

The 110A bus runs direct to Gangnam and stops about two minutes away, which is often faster than the subway for that trip.

Itaewon sits in the middle of our range — above Muak, roughly level with the larger Haebangchon rooms. You are paying for the station walk and the address rather than for extra space.

The terms are the same as everywhere we operate:

• Deposit is one month’s rent, no key money, no agency fee.
• No Korean guarantor and no ARC needed at signing, on an English contract.
• Utilities shared and metered.

Worth knowing before you compare: the studios and officetels advertised around Itaewon at similar monthly rents almost always want a deposit of ten million won or more upfront, and a Korean guarantor on the lease. That gap, not the rent, is usually what decides it.

Weekend noise. The main strip is one of Seoul’s nightlife centres, and Friday and Saturday run late. How much this affects you depends entirely on which street you are on — worth asking specifically about a given room rather than assuming.

You pay for the postcode. Itaewon rents carry a convenience premium. The same monthly figure buys a bigger room fifteen minutes further out, in Haebangchon or across the river.

The inventory is small. We have far fewer rooms here than in Haebangchon, so at any given moment there may be nothing open in the size you want. If Itaewon specifically is the requirement, start looking earlier than you think you need to.
