Luckily I found a share house run by an American expat. It was plug-and-play. I spent about eight months there with two other people — great location, everything I needed already in place. I loved it.

That's mainly why I started SharedHomies: I'd been through the problem myself and saw it was a real need for internationals coming to Korea. There are a lot of options out there, so my goal with SharedHomies is to make the application and discovery process as transparent as possible. That's why we do video walkthroughs — they aren't mandatory, but they add a level of transparency, especially for our overseas customers looking for housing in Korea before they arrive. If you're already in Korea, we'll do in-person tours too.

The bigger goal: I want you to make amazing memories in Korea with people from all over the world. I've been doing this for a long time, and it's a real joy to see strangers from different countries land in Seoul, live together for six months or a year, then go back to their home countries with a friend — a homie. That's where the name SharedHomies comes from.
