How We Help People

Shared Homies is more than a co-living platform. It’s a community of friends and travelers. Testimonials and experiences from the Homie community.

How does Shared Homies help?

Trust & Community

All of our tenants and operators say the same thing about Shared Homies – that we make it easy and reliable to find a room, list a shared house, find tenants, pay monthly rent, and most importantly, connect with the co-living community.

We help build trust by solving major issues in the shared housing community – scams, fake listings, rude and high pressure landlords, and the Korean language barrier.

We go the extra step and verify all of our operators, only working with a select few who are reliable – so tenants won’t have to worry about bad landlords.

Our platform is the only community-driven two-sided shared housing marketplace in Korea. That attracts tenants!

We do all the necessary and difficult marketing, fulfillment, and payment processing work so that operators can focus on offline activities – like managing their houses!

I am from the Czech Republic and came here for a startup competition that my company got accepted into. The program was only for 4 months, and I knew that I wanted to make friends while I was here, so I decided to opt-out of the comfort of an Airbnb and find a shared house.

One of the members of the program was already living in a co-living house called Shared Homies – she gave me the contact, I browsed what they had available, met with the roommates, and moved in within a week!

The process was super quick! I matched up with some cool roommates, and the operator was really organized and made the transition process easy and simple.

Finding a cute, safe place to live in Haebangchon this easily would have been impossible without Shared Homies. An amazing benefit is that I can pay in US dollars straight from my account instead of having the hassle of opening a Korean bank account or exchanging currencies.

I was placed in a house with big windows (so much natural light!) and they even went above and beyond and decorated it with live plants to create a cozy home vibe. My two roommates were European expants, super chill, and we got along well. Stephen was on top of the communication, every payment was transparent, and the experience made me love Seoul even more.

I used Shared Homies last year during the peak of the pandemic in 2020. I didnt want to book a 6 month place through Airbnb because I knew it was going to be time consuming and EXPENSIVE.

I was in Seoul for Summer semester and the Fall – I wanted to be 30 minutes near my University and I wanted to live with other people, in a shared house so that I could have constant interaction and not feel like I was trapped in a dorm.

That’s when I found Shared Homies, they gave me a list of options to choose from within their network – I checked out 2 and then met with the roommates.

The room was perfect, it had a great view of the city and the house was in a great location, but the thing that really sold me were the roommates. I had two lovely roommates, one from Switzerland and the other one from Finland, we explored Seoul on the weekends and on holidays we went out of town and created so really awesome memories.

Thanks Shared Homies! Now I have some homies for life!

I was an international student in Korea was looking for a nice share house to live in during my last semester in Seoul. I found a vacant room on Shared Homies, messaged the landlord, and saw the room in person before making any decision.

What was really great compared to my other rental experiences in Seoul was that the contract was fully in English and I could ask for a contract that was for exactly the months I needed. It was also so nice to have a landlord who was easy to approach and speaks English I could as for help anytime.

I also had really great roommates who became my friends and we did fun activities together like making kimchi at home! I would fully recommend renting a room in a shared house through Shared Homies because it’s the most convenient and fun way to get housing in Korea as a foreigner!
