“해외에서도 방을 찾을 수 있고, 보증금도 부담 없고, 이사 당일에도 도움을 받을 수 있어요. 집 문제가 생기면 연락했을 때 바로 답장이 와요. 외국인 셰어하우스를 고민 중이라면 여기가 맞아요.”“서울에서 집을 구할 때, 솔직히 제일 무서웠던 게 보증금이었어요. 외국에서는 한두 달치 월세만 맡기면 되는데, 여기는 몇 천만 원을 한 번에 내야 한다고 하잖아요. 그게 너무 부담돼서 셰어하우스를 알아보기 시작했고, Shared Homies를 찾았어요. 제일 좋았던 건 한국에 오기 전에 이미 방을 확정할 수 있었다는 거예요. 해외에서 검색하고, 문의하고, 계약까지 다 됐어요. 인천공항에 내려서 방황하지 않아도 됐고요. 보증금도 일반 부동산 매물에 비하면 훨씬 낮아서, 처음 서울 정착하는 입장에서 현실적으로 맞는 선택이었어요. 이사 당일에도 혼자 알아서 하는 게 아니라 실제로 도움을 받았어요. 집에 문제가 생겼을 때도, 연락하면 빠르게 답장이 왔고 그냥 넘어가는 일 없이 처리가 됐어요. 하우스 매니저 Stephen이 있는데, 처음엔 그냥 관리자겠거니 했는데 지금은 완전히 우리 멤버예요. 친절하고 편하게 대해줘서 집 얘기, 동네 얘기, 이것저것 다 물어볼 수 있어요. 방은 각자 개인 공간이 있고, 거실은 함께 쓰는 구조예요. 플랫메이트들이랑 공용 공간에서 보내는 시간이 생각보다 훨씬 좋아요. 외국인 친화 셰어하우스 찾고 있다면, 진짜 추천해요 ❤️”

During this period, I was lucky enough to find shared homies. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to live in a shared apartment in an amazing neighborhood with my friend.”“I came to Seoul for an exchange semester from February to June which was the best months of my life because I had the chance to see so much things. During this period, I was lucky enough to find shared homies. Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to live in a shared apartment in an amazing neighborhood with my friend. Steve was a great landlord, he always responded quickly whenever we had an issue. For example, when the weather started getting warmer about three months after I arrived, I realized I didn’t have a fan in my room. I texted him, and the next morning there was a fan at my doorstep. He also gives very helpful tips and assists with everyday matters, whether it’s dealing with your ARC or figuring out how to sort and throw out trash. On the one hand, the apartment is located in a fantastic neighborhood, close to a bus station, several convenience stores, and plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafés. On the other hand, the apartment itself was perfect: spacious and fully equipped with everything you might need, including air conditioning, a fan, a TV, an iron and ironing board, a washing machine, umbrellas, and more. In the room there is a mirror, a desk and a lot of ranging space. As you can see in the third photo, we had a direct view of Seoul Tower, which was definitely one of the highlights of the apartment. It’s such a unique experience to see it every day whether in the morning on the way to school or at night when it’s beautifully illuminated. Last but not least, another highlight was that, since Steve owns several apartments, I was able to share this one with my friend. This is not always easy to arrange, so I am very grateful for that opportunity.”

“서울에 처음 왔을 때 걱정이 많았는데, Shared Homies 덕분에 생각보다 훨씬 수월하게 자리를 잡을 수 있었어요. 룸메이트들이 진짜 가족 같아졌고, 동네도 정말 마음에 들어요.”“처음 서울에 왔을 때 가장 무서웠던 게 두 가지예요. 높은 보증금이랑, 한국어가 부족해서 좋은 방을 못 구하면 어쩌나 하는 걱정이요. 그 두 가지를 한꺼번에 해결해 줬다는 게 솔직히 제일 컸어요. 계약 과정에서 언어 때문에 불이익을 받거나, 부동산에서 갑자기 매물이 사라지는 경험 없이 방을 구할 수 있었거든요. 같이 사는 룸메이트들이 어느 순간 가족처럼 느껴졌고, 지금은 동네 자체도 정말 좋아요.”
